You asked and we listened. Now, you can control whether or not Robot Ninja places an order in your store before running checkout tests.
By default, Robot Ninja places test orders as part of our guest and returning user tests. After successfully making these orders, you’re refunded the amount and then the orders are deleted so they don’t affect your reports, statistics, stock levels etc.
In order to use this new feature, simply choose whether you want to enable or disable test orders in your store preferences:
Depending on your store’s gateway, shipping methods or other backend systems (i.e. accounting), test order can possibly cause confusion or unwanted side effects (or even extra work) especially if one of your integrations doesn’t handle refunds efficiently.
In these situations, a number of you have indicated you would prefer to simply disable the order placement functionality on some of your sites.
This new setting can be controlled on a per-store basis, which is especially useful for agencies that may have customers with differing plugins and configurations. It allows you to have some of your stores use the place order functionality and others not.
As always, if you run into any issues with this new feature or have any other questions about using Robot Ninja with your stores, let us know so we can help you out.
