After four years of testing thousands of stores, we are sad to announce today that Robot Ninja will begin its shutdown sequence on March 31, 2020.
With E-Commerce becoming a very competitive space, there are a lot of exciting things happening at Automattic and it has come time that we move onto other projects to help WooCommerce grow.
We greatly appreciate everyone that supported our endeavours and everyone that took part in the journey of developing Robot Ninja.
What Does This Mean?
Starting today, we will be removing the form where you can register interest and will not be allowing any new free or paid signups.
On March 31, 2020, all free users will be unable to run and queue any tests on their stores. They will still have access to their dashboard including test history, past orders, and my account pages.
All active subscriptions will be marked as pending cancellation and will be set to expire in April. Before your subscription expires, you will be able to run and queue tests and use Robot Ninja as usual.
On May 31, 2020, all access will be disabled and all data removed from our system.
At this time, the Robot Ninja Helper plugin will be removed from WordPress.org and will no longer be updated. All test credit cards will also be suspended.
See below for a more comprehensive timeline.
Alternative Services
With the closing of Robot Ninja, we understand you may want to continue testing your checkout on a daily basis. To do this, there is a range of tools and services that you can use to implement end-to-end testing functionality for your stores. Some of these include:
Due to the unique WooCommerce focus and functionality that Robot Ninja provided, there is no single service we can recommend for a seamless transfer or migration.
We can, however, provide a list of steps/actions and selectors our Robot Ninja test flows used so that you can manually reproduce some of what we offered.
